SXSW Submission
July 15, 2025
Two blog posts in one day!
We are trying to get into SXSW 2025 this year to showcase what we've been working on, and we just finished our submission.
Fingers crossed for us please! We're super proud of the projects we have so far, seeming as we only started less than a year ago.
The reason I'm posting this though is because we made a video for the submission, and you might find it interesting as it explains Yapmon, and a few of our other projects.

Strangers in testing
July 15, 2025
Strangers is finally ready to begin testing!
What the hell is Strangers? Great question. Think Airdrop meets Twitter. You set a message, walk around, others recieve it.
There are no accounts, simply download and get started. We think that the anonymity is interesting, as it provides a platform to share ideas with no self attached.
There are obviously concerns around moderation and misuse, however we have a few tools and systems in place to prevent this, such as reporting, and a local block-list to filter keywords/phrases.
We're going to do some promotion for the app soon when we are gearing up for launch, giving out physical messages from strangers, to strangers in the Sydney CBD.
That's about it for this post, just wanted to celebrate that we now have a working app, and have turned it from an idea to a functioning piece of software.
Very cool! (WATCH THIS SPACE (LAUNCH PARTY MAYBE????))

Trains and restyling
June 11, 2025
Trains now added on sister site: www.howshitismytrain.com.au!
You can now toggle between buses, and trains. Trains will show you the 9 lines in Sydney, however when you click on any given line it should expand and show you the average delay by stop.
Functionally, is exactly the same as the bus website, but we had a lot of people asking for a train site. Pretty cool data to see. I'm keen to see what happens to the numbers when it rains a lot, or there's strikes.
While Josh was working on the train site, Bryden was busy restyling the bus site. It looks much nicer now, and mirrors the visual imagery of Sydney buses. The poo counter has some fun animations, which reinforces the idea that you can click the poo multiple times.
Josh is working on adding a dashboard with a ton of data for the real foamers.
I don't know if anyone actually reads these except for me, but if you do check out the site and let us know what you think.
Talk soon, bye bye!

How shit is my bus?
June 3, 2025
Josh is a real g moving in silence like lasagna.
He built a website on his own that tracks a bunch of data on the NSW/Sydney transit network in order to definitively rank the worst bus routes.
This allows you to sort by 'Daily', 'Weekly', 'Monthly', or 'All'.
Sydney’s got a lot of bus routes. Sure, the data might say some random route you’ve never taken is the worst, but if you know in your soul that your bus is actually the shittest, hit the poo button to boost its Shit Score.
Looking to add more features, and data visualisation soon, also looking to launch a sister site that tracks the trains.
Pretty interesting data though. It's not the most interactive site, but I find myself there at least twice a day to see the standings out of curiousity.
Anyways, check it out and see where your bus ranks.

LOCK IN
May 23, 2025
The flagship game for Yapmon has finally hit production!
Lock In pairs you against someone else, wherein you quite literally face off in order to see who is the most dialed in.
It uses smile detecting technology, to see if you're Locked In, or Geeked Out.
The more you smile, the more aura you lose.
Lose all your aura?
Game over man.
Lock In.

Chess added to Yapmon!
May 4, 2025
Cam was working on adding chess to yapmon, and after our meeting today they pushed it to main
So now you can queue up and play chess with people which is pretty neat. We did some testing, and everything seems to work fine (en passant, castling, checks, checkmate)
You can't premove or anything but yeah it works.
There are still some weird socket issues where sometimes a new room won't show camera/connect properly but if one person refreshes page it seems to work
Looking into that and hoping to fix ASAP, also looking to release our flagship game for Yapmon soon, so keep an eye out.
That's all for now.

WEBSITE!!!!
May 2, 2025
We were pretty busy with the projects themselves, and neglected making a website.
I set up some text place holder which was up for ages, but figured enough is enough, and made an actual website. It's quite basic lol, because I don't really know html so am learning as I go while building this.
But I like that it mimics a bygone era of web, and tech in general for that matter.
I think that there is quite a pushback on the corporate minimal designs that pollute tech, so hopefully a playful website that doesn't take itself very seriously is received well.
Kind of want to talk about our mission and ethos, but I'll leave that for a future post. This is just to log and announce the launch of this website.
Hope you have a great week!
